Sun gods have been a part of almost every known civilization.

Apollo, sun of Zeus, is probably one of the best known Sun gods. He is thought to have originated in Asia and to have reached Europe through Greece. According to legend, he is the perfect man, depicted in paintings or carvings as a naked and truthful adolescent who is pure and bright as the Sun.

In astrology, the Sun, is associated with the sign Leo and symbolizes generosity of heart, affection, creativity and joy. It does, however, encourage self-esteem to the point that it becomes pretension.

The Sun is one of the two most important aspects of an astrology chart. This light which draws us into life represents the changes we have not yet taken. It is our identity and the source for our experiences. We are constantly moving towards what the Sun has in store for us.
